About Mater Dei Parish, Transekulu
Mater Dei Parish, located at Community/New Generation Layout, Mgbowo Street, Trans-Ekulu, is a growing Catholic community dedicated to worship, evangelization, and service. Established in 2013 and announced by Bishop C.V.C. Onaga, the parish began at the residence of Lolo Pauline Ekowa, where the first Mass was celebrated on 20th August 2013.
From humble beginnings, the parish has expanded steadily—moving to its permanent site on 2nd March 2014, growing its zones and societies, and building strong spiritual and social structures for its members.
Mater Dei Parish is surrounded by St. Mary’s Parish Transekulu, St. Leo the Great Federal Housing, St. Anthony Parish New Generation Layout, St. Francis of Assisi Ugbene II, and SS Peter & Paul On-the-Height Ugbene-Abakpa (its originating parish).
